Time to Design

Inspired by how abstract geometric patterns have traditionally been used to create celestial atmosphere in cultures that does not allow figurative depiction, this project seeks to explore ornamentation as a 3-dimensional expression of organic, geometric growth as a means to create space.

The project consists of a screen wall designed and built as the Time to Design – New Talent Award, which I won in 2008. The award was aimed at young professional designers in the beginning of their career, who had already shown potential and talent. The award was a cooperation between the Danish Art Workshops, Normann Copenhagen, Danish Design Association and the Danish Association of Wood and Furniture .
